MNAC has brought together the work of thirteen avant-garde Catalan photographers with the best of Europe in Praga, París, Barcelona. Modernitat fotogràfica del 1918 al 1948, which you can see from now until 12 September.
Featuring works by Man Ray, Brassaï, Pere Català Pic, Josep Sala and Karel Novák, the exhibition includes 170 photographs, documents and films endowed with the technical, creative and stylistic innovations available to these photographers and artists.
The artistic revolution that took place in Prague and Paris in the interwar period also reached Catalonia by the mid 1920s, when a number of Catalan photographers made successful inroads in experimentation.
